This album is brilliant. All the songs are energetic and melancholic, sweet and bitter, passionate and tender at the same time. Jonas' voice is stunning and sweet, it makes you dream... You even don't realise that you're falling in love with the owner of this beautiful voice! Anyway, a young dreamy girl like me didn't notice how it had happend.... Especially I love "Behind the Drapes". It makes me cry, it's so sad! "Frengers" makes a great and a bit dark impression on me every time. I don't know why. But I love listening to it! Can't imagine my day without "Am I Wry? No", or "156", or "Snow Brigade", or any other "Frengers" song. "Frengers" is full of Mew's charming weirdness and romance. Real romantics understand me.

"Frengers" was not my first impression to this band...
I've been listening to their music since "A Triumph For Man" (1997)... Speaking of "A Triumph For Man", it was very difficult to find the album back then, since it came up with no commercial release... But the album impressed me so bad an influence me hardly (Guess what? I was only around 10 or 11 years old by that time)... By 2000, when "Half The World Is Watching Me" was released, I noticed a big change in their musical nuance... Quite stunning, I guess..

Years gone by, I thought this band would never came up with a new album. Until one day in 2003, I heard that Mew was coming to Medan (a city in my country) as a guest star in Soundrenaline gig.
In 2003 was the first time I hear "Am I Wry? No", and I suddenly fell in love with the song.. Really!! And yet, I got my own first released "Frengers"... The songs "Comforting Sounds", "She Came Home For Christmas" (re-released), and "156" were totally hit my ears.. I thought "Frengers" was "A New Mew". They sounded more mature in their music.. This album was like a transformation of Mew.. And they turned out beautifully with more enchanting songs..

Listen to "Symmetry" and "Snow Brigade" and experiment the taste of bittersweet love story of your personal life..

Overall, "Frengers" was a new break! A big break for this band... A stepping stone that had made them being known over the world..

I know this sopunds cheesy, but what could I possibly have done without this version of Comforting Sounds? It's the most stunning song there is. It's been my favorite for years! : D Up until NMS, Frengers was my fav Mew album. I love the inrto and the ending. I have never fully understood the middle part; Behind the Drapes, Her Voice is Beyond Her Years and Symmetry but all of the other tracks are amazing! I love almost every single track on NMS. That's why it outruns Frengers. Nothing will ever top Comforing Sounds though... Not even another Mew song. I guess it's the same way as no other band can possibly top Mew. : )
